PENGUIN BY DESIGN
For this University project, I was tasked with redesigning a series of three classic book covers previously published by Penguin Books. All three titles invite the readers to rethink a subject, which is why my design concept aims to do just that, both through imagery and design choices.
Hiding the book title from the main cover plays into the idea of reveal. For it to work, a cut-out was applied to the main illustration in each book.
Nine bookmarks were made with the intent of them becoming collectable and further exploring the quirky feeling of the series. In each bookmark, the readers would find a QR code, leading them to a unique animation. Introducing moving image helped dive more into the imaginative side of the books whilst engaging a tech savvy audience.
