This self-started project had a strong editorial component, as it required the redesign of a series of three classic book covers, previously published by Penguin Books.

All three titles in question invite the readers to rethink a subject: "On Photography" (Susan Sontag), "The Beauty of Everyday Things" (Soetsu Yanagi), and "The Poetics of Space" (Gaston Bachelard). The design and illustrative style chosen aims to do that too.

Hiding the book title from the main cover plays into the idea of reveal. For it to work, a cut-out was applied to the main illustration in each book. Nine bookmarks were made with the intent of them becoming collectable, and further exploring the quirky feeling of the series. In each bookmark, the readers would find a QR code, leading them to a unique animation. Introducing moving image helped dive more into the imaginative side of the books whilst engaging a tech savvy audience.
